The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) will carry out welding and installation work for an emergency fire staircase near the old High Court metro station in Navrangpura from May 13 to May 27, leading to temporary night-time traffic restrictions in the area.
According to an official notification, the work involves installing an iron emergency fire staircase at the metro station near the old High Court. Since heavy welding work will take place near 274, Navrangpura Flat, a section of the road in front of the site will remain temporarily closed during night hours.
The traffic restriction will be in effect daily from 12 am to 5 am between May 13 and May 27, 2026.
During this period, around 100 metres of the road stretch between Vishram Flat and the Income Tax underpass will remain closed at night.
Authorities have announced alternate routes for commuters:
- Vehicles coming from the Income Tax side will be diverted right near the hotel close to the underpass and can continue towards different main roads.
- Traffic coming from the Navrangpura Police Station side will be diverted left from Shantam Flat towards connecting roads.
Citizens have been advised to use the diversion routes and cooperate with traffic police during the night-time work.
