The Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) will organise a three-day residential Summer Science Camp in multiple batches from May 1 to May 30, 2026. The camp will be held at four Regional Science Centres located in Patan, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Bhuj. Open to students from Classes 6 to 10, each batch will have up to 50 participants and will focus on five exciting science themes.
Camp to Feature Five Interesting Science Themes
The camp will cover five key themes to spark students’ interest in science: How to Become a Scientist, Space Summer Camp, Marine Biology/Machine Engineering, AI and Robotics, and Exploring Nature. To make learning fun and interactive, students will take part in activities such as hands-on experiments, science exhibitions, multimedia sessions, night sky observation, field visits, quizzes, science games, and guided gallery tours.
Students to Learn About Government Schemes and Career Options
During the camp, students will interact with science experts and take part in discussions. They will also be introduced to important state government schemes like Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana, Mukhyamantri Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship Yojana, along with guidance on future career paths.
The Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana, launched under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, aims to encourage students to choose science in Classes 11 and 12. The Mukhyamantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship Yojana supports 2 lakh students who have completed Class 5 in government or aided schools, helping them continue studies from Classes 6 to 12. The Mukhyamantri Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Yojana benefits 1 lakh students who studied from Classes 1 to 8 in government or RTE-recognised private schools, enabling them to pursue education from Classes 9 to 12.
Overall, the GUJCOST Summer Science Camp aims to boost creativity, promote interest in STEM careers, and help students build a strong connection with science. Admissions will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, and interested students and parents can contact their nearest Regional Science Centre for more details, according to an official statement.
