No student managed to enter the top score bracket in the Chief Minister Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Examination (CGMS-2026), the results of which were announced by the Gujarat State Examination Board on Monday.
This year, no student scored between 115–120 marks, which is the highest bracket. Only two students reached the second-highest bracket of 110–114 marks.
A total of:
- 23 students scored between 105–109 marks
- 77 students scored between 100–104 marks
Despite over 5.11 lakh students appearing for the exam, very few achieved top scores.
Only nine students from nine schools scored above 90% (108 marks), showing how rare high scores were this year.
Other performance details:
- 283 students (from 228 schools) scored above 80%
- 2,278 students (from 1,510 schools) scored above 70%
- 10,936 students scored above 60%
- 39,696 students scored above 50%
- 1,27,518 students scored above 40%
This shows that while top scores were limited, many students achieved average to moderate marks.
As per the official notice:
- General category students scoring above 60 marks are included in the provisional merit list
- SC/ST students scoring above 55 marks are included
However, being on the merit list does not guarantee a scholarship or admission, and cut-off marks may change if needed.
