A 19-year-old woman in Vadodara has filed a formal complaint at the Makarpura police station against her former fiancé, alleging molestation and physical assault. The relationship began three years ago when the man proposed to her; however, due to her being 16 at the time, the families agreed to postpone the union until she reached adulthood. The couple was eventually engaged on January 24, 2019.
The victim states that the incident occurred after her fiancé’s mother fell ill, prompting him to bring her to his home to assist with household chores. During this time, the man allegedly molested and kissed her against her will, while pressuring her to engage in a physical relationship before their wedding.
When the woman refused his sexual advances, the man reportedly ended the engagement. In response to the assault and the subsequent breach of the marriage agreement, the woman approached the authorities to file a criminal complaint against him.
