The admission process for 25% MBA seats at four Centres of Excellence in Gujarat has concluded, but 25 seats remain vacant despite an additional offline round held to fill leftover vacancies.
The institutes — Nirma University, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Ahmedabad University and CEPT University — collectively offered 214 MBA seats through the Common Admission Test (CAT). Around 700 candidates applied, and admissions were initially conducted through two merit-based online rounds.
Even after these rounds, 98 seats remained unfilled — 23 out of 100 at Nirma University, 33 out of 62 at PDEU, 25 out of 25 at Ahmedabad University, and 17 out of 23 at CEPT University.
Since additional online rounds were not permitted under the rules, authorities conducted an offline round, inviting over 600 candidates. During this process, all available seats were offered to those present, allowing Nirma University and PDEU to fill their vacancies.
However, Ahmedabad University and CEPT University still have a combined 25 seats unfilled. In the offline round, 80 new candidates secured admission, while 10 students opted to transfer to other institutes.
The remaining 25 seats will now be returned to the respective universities for further action.
