A complaint has been filed against a woman who allegedly created a disturbance while protesting a traffic jam during a Bharatiya Janata Party rally in Mumbai, police said on Friday.
The application was submitted by Zen Sadavarte, daughter of lawyer Gunratna Sadavarte, at a local police station on Thursday evening. “She submitted the application around 7–7.30 pm. The matter is being examined,” a senior officer said, adding that details of the complaint were not immediately available.
The incident occurred in the Worli area on Tuesday during a BJP rally held over the women’s reservation bill issue. During the event, an agitated woman confronted Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan while he was speaking to reporters, accusing organisers of causing inconvenience due to road closures.
“Get out of here. You are causing a traffic jam,” she was heard saying, questioning why the rally was not held at a nearby ground.
In her complaint, Zen Sadavarte alleged that the woman created a ruckus, used abusive language, and disrupted public order during the rally.
