The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has reopened the registration process for the Triple C (CCC) exam, crucial for government employees in the state. Candidates now have until April 30 to sign up.
This exam evaluates basic computer skills and is a requirement for many state government officials, either upon getting hired or during their tenure. Despite significant interest, particularly from Ahmedabad, candidates are facing challenges due to a shortage of testing centers.
At present, only GTU and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University are hosting the CCC exam. Gujarat University has yet to reinstate its exams after halting them due to allegations of malpractice. Previously, when all three institutions conducted the test, it eased pressure on applicants by distributing them more evenly.
In 2025 alone, approximately 11,000 candidates registered for the test. Since it’s conducted only on weekends, completing the examination process can take anywhere from eight to ten months. For instance, last year’s exams commenced in May but weren’t wrapped up until February.
The situation worsened after Gujarat University’s suspension of its CCC exams without resolving any controversy surrounding it. No significant investigations have taken place since then.
Interestingly enough, GTU itself faced scrutiny over marks manipulation involving an IT employee’s suspension; however, further actions remain pending as well. Yet, despite these issues plaguing both institutions and limited capacity overall, GTU reports that over 7,000 candidates have registered this year alone—with expectations of surpassing 10,000 registrations soon.
