The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has served a notice to a city resident for allegedly cutting down a tree without permission in the Saraspur-Rakhial ward, warning of strict action for environmental damage.
According to officials from AMC’s Garden Department (North Zone), the notice was issued to Nikol resident Bajrang Umed Singh Rajput after a complaint about illegal tree felling in front of Maruti Plaza near Shakti Flats.A site inspection confirmed that the tree had been cut from the root without prior approval from the competent authority. Officials said the act violates rules related to tree protection and has caused environmental damage.
In the notice dated April 23, AMC has asked the individual to submit a written explanation within three days, failing which further action will be taken as per civic and environmental regulations.
Authorities stressed that unauthorised tree cutting is a punishable offence and warned of strict enforcement against such violations.
Further action will depend on the response submitted by the notice recipient.
