Ahmedabad city police are implementing traffic diversions in the Raipur area on April 26 and 27, ahead of the municipal elections. The changes aim to ensure smooth operations for election staff and electronic voting machines (EVMs).
On April 26, during polling, and again on April 27 for post-poll activities, these diversions will be crucial to alleviate congestion near the election facility. The dispatch center is located at Gujarat Shramyogi Kalyan Bhavan, close to the Shamji Krishna Varma Sports Complex.
Voters from several wards—Dariapur Ward 21, Khadia Ward 18, and Jamalpur Ward 19—will utilize this facility. To manage traffic flow effectively, a one-way system has been put in place from Raipur Crossroads towards the Bhavan. Additionally, the road between Raipur Crossroads and Kagadapith junction will be closed.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes based on their directions; options include Parsi Agiyari junction, Vanijya Bhavan Crossroads, Safal III Circle, Kankaria Gate No. 3, Astodia, and Lal Darwaza. This strategy aims to keep traffic moving smoothly during this critical time.
