Kheda: In a disturbing case that has drawn public attention, police have arrested eight men in Chandna village for their alleged roles in the sexual assault and blackmail of a minor Hindu girl. The investigation began after her family reported the abuse, which reportedly lasted over three years.
Authorities initiated the arrests following a formal complaint filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Among those arrested is Parvez Pathan, who allegedly lured the victim into what’s being described as a ‘love trap’ about two years ago.
This trap involved recording compromising photos and videos of the girl, leading to threats of exposure that kept her silent. Pathan shared these recordings with others, bringing Mahir, Faizan, Taufiq, and Sahil Pathan into the scheme. Together, they reportedly coerced her through threats of violence against her family.
The abuse continued until Ramadan in 2025 before it came to light when she confided in her family. They reached out to local Hindu organizations for assistance, ultimately resulting in an FIR lodged at Kheda Town police station.
Officials characterized this incident as a planned conspiracy reflecting tactics associated with ‘love jihad.’ Following their arrests today, police reconstructed parts of the crime scene with all eight suspects present. In addition to securing justice for the victim—who underwent a medical examination—authorities are actively pursuing one remaining suspect.
