Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has pushed back the deadline for implementing the mandatory use of A4-sized paper in all district courts. According to a new circular, the switch will now take effect on August 1, 2026.
This latest notification replaces previous announcements made in late 2025, clarifying that no further extensions will be granted after this revised date.
Anil Kella, a senior member of the Bar Council of Gujarat, expressed his support for the decision. He pointed out that many advocates were still getting ready for this major change in documentation practices. “The extension gives them enough time to update their offices and meet the new formatting and printing standards,” he said.
The move aims to streamline legal documentation across Gujarat’s courts. By standardizing paper sizes, officials hope to improve efficiency and reduce confusion among legal practitioners.
But this isn’t the only recent development in Gujarat’s legal landscape. The state police have also been active, detaining five habitual narco-offenders under the PIT NDPS Act recently. Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Bureau nabbed a middleman involved in a bribery scheme.
