A major fire broke out in a multi-storey commercial building in the Gotri area of Vadodara on Tuesday, engulfing the premises and triggering panic in the surrounding area.
The blaze reportedly started at ISKCON Heights and quickly spread across the 10-storey structure. Thick black smoke billowed from the building and was visible from a considerable distance.
Fire officials confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far.Following the incident, the Vadodara Fire Brigade issued a ‘major call’, mobilising multiple firefighting teams. Units from Bhayli, Dandiya Bazar, and Wadiwadi fire stations were rushed to the site with several fire tenders.
Firefighters launched intensive operations to the blaze, using specialised equipment such as hydraulic platforms to tackle flames in the high-rise building.The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
