A major incident was reported on Wednesday morning at the hostel of L D Engineering College in Ahmedabad, where a portion of the ceiling slab collapsed inside a room in the ‘B’ block, triggering panic among students.
One student sustained serious injuries in the incident and was immediately rushed for medical treatment.Visuals from the site showed a large section of the slab crashing directly onto a student’s bed.
The injured student suffered head injuries along with wounds to other parts of the body.Fellow students and hostel authorities promptly shifted him to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment.
He is currently under medical supervision, and his condition is reported to be stable.No fatalities have been reported.
