The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) took decisive action on Saturday, sealing three significant construction sites in the Gota ward. This crackdown stems from a stringent enforcement of dust control and urban safety regulations.
A specialized team from the AMC’s Estate and Town Development Officer (TDO) department conducted an unexpected inspection. They found that the Evera, S Plus, and Solo Bliss 2 projects had not installed essential green nets and barricades to contain harmful particulate matter.
In a notable finding, the Solo Bliss site received a hefty fine of ₹1 lakh for allowing heavy materials to spill onto public roads. This negligence created a dangerous traffic situation for nearby motorists.
But that wasn’t all. The enforcement efforts didn’t stop at Gota. A construction site in Bodakdev was fined ₹50,000 due to excessive air pollution caused by its operations. In Thaltej ward, another developer faced penalties amounting to ₹1 lakh for not adhering to safety regulations.
Alongside these actions, AMC crews worked diligently to remove illegal encroachments along a critical service road running from KD Hospital to Ognaj Circle. Their goal is clear: ensure smoother traffic flow in key areas of the city.
