Air India on Saturday announced that all its domestic flight operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport will shift from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, effective March 29, 2026.
The move will cover the airline’s 210 weekly domestic flights to and from Ahmedabad. Its international services at the airport are already operating from Terminal 2.
From March 29, all Air India arrivals and departures will function exclusively from Terminal 2.
The airline said the transition is part of its efforts to enhance passenger experience at the airport. Spanning a built-up area of 49,000 sq m, Terminal 2 offers upgraded facilities, including 52 check-in counters, self-baggage drop kiosks, DigiYatra kiosks, 17 departure immigration counters, 22 arrival immigration counters, eight Fast Track Immigration e-gates, along with a wide range of retail and food and beverage options.
Air India has started informing passengers booked on Ahmedabad flights about the terminal change through SMS, email and other direct communication channels. Travellers have also been advised to check their terminal details before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
