A decomposed body of a man was discovered inside a parked luxury car in Ahmedabad’s Sarkhej area, prompting a police probe into the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to Gujarat Police, the body was found inside a Mercedes car that had reportedly been parked at an isolated spot near LJ College for nearly six months. The unattended vehicle drew suspicion after locals noticed a foul smell.
Police officials said that upon inspection, a male body in an advanced stage of decomposition was found inside the car. Due to the condition of the body, the identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
Preliminary inquiries indicate that the vehicle had remained stationary for a long period, with no immediate signs of external disturbance. However, investigators have not ruled out any possibility at this stage.
Sarkhej Police have registered a case of accidental death and begun further investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said efforts are ongoing to trace the vehicle’s ownership and identify the deceased. “We are examining all angles, including the vehicle’s registration details and missing persons records,” an officer said.
