Okha is getting a new direct rail service to Tirupati, thanks to the Railway Board’s approval of the Okha–Tirupati Special. It’ll now officially be known as the 19559/19560 Okha–Tirupati Express, running weekly between Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
The train’s schedule is designed for convenience. The 19560 will depart from Okha every Monday night at 23:35, arriving in Tirupati by 23:30 on Wednesday. On the return trip, the 19559 leaves Tirupati at 08:15 on Thursday and rolls back into Okha at 11:50 Saturday morning.
This service won’t just rush through—it’s got a solid list of stops. Key halts include Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Bhusaval among others. A total of about 33 stations are part of its route.
The express train will feature an ICF rake composed of 20 coaches: four General Second Class, ten Sleeper Class, three AC 3-tier coaches, one AC 2-tier coach, along with two Guard-cum-Luggage vans. Maintenance will primarily take place at Okha while some services will also occur in Tirupati.
Crew changes and technical checks are scheduled at major stations like Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Watering facilities will be available at various points including Nandurbar and Bhusaval.
This new connection aims to benefit pilgrims traveling between Saurashtra and Tirupati as well as long-distance passengers journeying through Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
