So, here’s the scoop—Gujarat Vidyapith just opened up admissions for this academic year, but it looks like things have changed quite a bit. They’ve slashed their list of available programmes big time! Seriously, if you looked at last year’s offerings, you’d see a stark contrast.
For starters, the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme? Gone! It was there last year and now it’s nowhere to be found. But that’s not all. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme has been trimmed too. Previously, students had six subjects to pick from: Gujarati, Hindi, English, History, Economics and Sociology. This year? Only three remain—History, Economics and Sociology. That means half the options are out!
And guess what? The science stream is in even worse shape! Last year you could study Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Microbiology as part of a Bachelor of Science (BSc). Now? Just Microbiology is left on the menu – pretty slim pickings for anyone chasing a degree in pure sciences.
Postgraduate courses aren’t safe either; the MSc IT programme has quietly taken its leave too. Oddly enough, there hasn’t been an official announcement about why these courses are disappearing from their listings. So what gives? Sources whisper that low enrolment figures and possibly some administrative issues are driving these cuts.
This drop in course offerings is raising eyebrows—especially since Gujarat Vidyapith kicked off its admission process early this year compared to other institutions in the state.
