Jalgaon is buzzing with news about the Ankleshwar–Burhanpur National Highway (NH-753B) project. After years of being stalled due to farmers’ objections and administrative delays, land acquisition is finally picking up speed.
This highway connects Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh through Maharashtra, winding through several villages in Netrang and Dediapada before entering Maharashtra’s Nandurbar and Dhule districts. It even reaches into Burhanpur district, cutting across remote border areas at the foothills of the Satpura range.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had previously issued a notification for land acquisition, but disputes over compensation rates and road alignment held things back. Recently, however, local authorities have changed their approach. They’ve been holding meetings with farmers to address concerns regarding compensation clarity, which has led to more cooperation.
Officials confirmed that joint measurements for land in Chopda taluka are done and that demarcation has wrapped up in Yawal–Savda too. This means that construction could start as soon as the monsoon season ends later this year.
And there’s more good news: alternative routes are being set up during construction to keep traffic flowing smoothly. In Yawal taluka, rural roads are being upgraded with funds from the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Work on gravel laying and drainage is already underway.
If everything stays on track legally and administratively, officials expect a formal launch post-Diwali
