A troubling case of harassment through social media has emerged in Vadodara. A 30-year-old teacher from Kolkata, currently residing in the Navapura area, recently lodged a complaint with local police.
According to reports, the harassment began in early 2022 when the victim received a message on Facebook Messenger from an account identified as Hiren Rajput. She responded by asking him not to contact her again and subsequently blocked that account. But the unwanted messages didn’t stop there.
In 2023, another message came from a different account named Smit RJ. The woman chose to ignore this message as well and blocked it without engaging further. Fast forward to 2025, the sender resurfaced under the same name, Hiren Rajput, and continued his harassment with messages questioning her attitude: “Do you like me? Why are you so arrogant?” In February 2026, things escalated when he referred to her as “My Valentine,” prompting her to take action by contacting law enforcement.
The situation grew more alarming as the accused persisted in reaching out by creating new Facebook profiles. He monitored her social media presence closely and even approached her home, causing significant mental distress for the teacher.
Finally fed up with the constant harassment, she approached authorities at Navapura police station. During their investigation, they identified the man behind the threats as Hirenkumar Rameshbhai Rajput from Tarsali. Police have since registered a case against him under relevant sections of local laws and have detained him while further steps are taken.
