A team from the Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU), has claimed victory at the prestigious 3rd Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition. The event took place at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) and attracted participants from top law colleges across India, alongside two international teams.
Comprising students Sarthak Gupta, Kirti Kasat, and Harshita Singh, the ILNU trio tackled a challenging moot problem focused on Energy Law and Climate Justice. This case brought together elements of Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, Energy Law, and Public International Law.
The competition was intense, but the team’s hard work paid off. They walked away with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh—a significant achievement for both the students and their institution. “Winning this competition is a huge honor for us,” said Gupta after the announcement. “We couldn’t have done it without our dedicated preparation and support from our faculty.”
This win not only showcases the talent emerging from Nirma University but also highlights the importance of addressing contemporary issues like climate justice in legal education.
