New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass, effective April 1, 2026. Owners of non-commercial vehicles will now pay ₹3,075 for the pass, an increase from ₹3,000.
This fee hike marks a 2.5% rise aimed at supporting frequent highway users who benefit from reduced toll expenses and more convenient travel options. The FASTag Annual Pass was launched on August 15 last year and is designed for cars, jeeps, and vans equipped with active FASTags. It remains valid for one year or up to 200 crossings at any national highway toll plaza.
The pass can be purchased via the Rajmargyatra mobile app or through the NHAI website. As of now, over 50 lakh users have signed up for the annual pass, which represents nearly 28% of car transactions across national highways.
Since its inception in 2016, approximately 11.86 crore FASTags have been issued with about 5.9 crore still active today. Currently, electronic toll collection via FASTags accounts for more than 98% of all toll collections on national highways.
The highest usage rates for the annual pass are seen at Bijwasan Fee Plaza near Delhi–Gurugram border where around 57% of vehicles use it. Mundka Toll Plaza and Jhinjholi Fee Plaza follow closely behind with roughly 53%. Regionally, Chandigarh leads with 14% of total transactions using the annual pass.
The pass is valid at around 1,150 fee plazas nationwide but remains optional; regular FASTag systems will still operate for those who don’t choose to opt-in.
