A bomb threat email sent to the registrar’s office of the Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court caused a significant security alert on Thursday. The warning claimed that explosives would be used to blow up the court building, leading authorities to act swiftly.
Upon receiving the threatening message, court officials immediately contacted local law enforcement. Police teams and fire brigade personnel were dispatched to secure the area and conduct an evacuation as a safety measure.
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, along with a Dog Squad from the Ahmedabad Police, was deployed to thoroughly inspect the premises for any signs of dangerous materials or explosive devices.
During initial investigations, police traced the email back to Saurabh Biswas. He had been arrested recently by the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Police Station in West Bengal for his involvement in cybercriminal activities. Authorities believe he was linked to cracking dormant email accounts and selling them on the dark web.
This same compromised account appears to have been used once more to send threats, including this recent bomb scare directed at the court.
Police Inspector P.S. Bhati from Karanj Police Station reported that no suspicious objects were discovered during their search efforts. However, officials continue working diligently to trace who accessed the compromised account and issued this alarming threat.
