Despite challenging conditions, students at the Ahmedabad centre of the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Intermediate examination have demonstrated resilience. A total of 1,433 candidates took the exam, but only 189 managed to pass, resulting in a pass rate of just 13.19%.
Breaking it down further, Group One had 1,487 participants with 246 passing—yielding a slightly better rate of 16.54%. Conversely, Group Two saw a total of 701 candidates where 146 cleared the exam, bringing that percentage up to 20.83%. While these numbers reflect local performance, they sit somewhat above the national average.
Across India as a whole, competition was fierce. For both groups collectively, there were 41,798 candidates and only 3,924 passed—resulting in a mere pass percentage of 9.39%. In Group One alone, out of an overwhelming pool of 105,526 candidates, only 14,733 succeeded for a pass rate of approximately 13.96%. Meanwhile, Group Two’s figures showed that from 69,477 participants only about one-seventh made it through with a pass percentage of around 15.54%.
The CA Foundation results offered some brighter news for Ahmedabad students. Out of the total of 3,937 who appeared for this exam at the local centre, an encouraging figure emerged: 809 successfully cleared it for a pass percentage of approximately 20.55%. Looking at all-India statistics for this level shows that from 109694 aspirants across the country 21,099 passed — making up a nationwide passing rate close to 19.23%.
