Following an earlier announcement by Air India, its sister carrier Air India Express is also expected to move its domestic operations to Terminal 2 (T2) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, from March 29.The proposed shift coincides with the implementation of the summer schedule by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The transition comes after the completion of infrastructure upgrades at T2 and is aimed at streamlining passenger movement ahead of the peak summer travel season.Airport officials said the relocation will help optimise terminal utilisation and reduce congestion, as passenger traffic is projected to increase in the coming months. Air India Express is currently one of the major domestic operators at the airport, and its move is part of a broader terminal rationalisation strategy undertaken by the airport operator.Air India, which had temporarily shifted its domestic operations to Terminal 1 in April 2023, is also expected to realign its services under the revised terminal plan.
