Grief takes many forms, and sometimes it unfolds in ways that leave the internet in shock. A video that is rapidly gaining traction shows a luxury BMW being lowered into a deep pit using ropes.
According to the caption, a father chose to bury his ₹6 crore BMW after the death of his son.
In the clip, a dark-coloured BMW is seen suspended carefully with bright yellow straps as several men stand around a large pit dug into an open patch of land. The mud walls appear deep and wide enough to accommodate the vehicle.
Text over the video reads, “A father buries a ₹6 crore BMW in the ground after his son’s passing.” The accompanying caption suggests that while many noticed “the money, the headlines, the controversy,” few saw a father’s “shattered heart.”
The emotional footage has struck a chord online, prompting both sympathy and criticism. The comment section quickly turned into a debate. Some users defended the father’s decision, saying grief is deeply personal and cannot be judged from the outside. “Things don’t matter when the person is no longer there,” one user wrote.
Others, however, questioned the choice. Some argued that the car could have been sold and the money donated to charity instead. “He could have sold it and donated that money to the needy,” one comment read — a view echoed by many who felt the funds could have been put to better use.
The video’s own caption acknowledges the divide, stating, “Whether this decision was right or wrong can be debated… but grief cannot be measured or understood unless you’ve felt it yourself.”
Within hours of being shared, the clip amassed thousands of views across Instagram and other platforms. While some interpret the act as a symbolic gesture of closure, others see it as an unnecessary display of extravagance.
The reported ₹6 crore price tag has only intensified the discussion.
As the video continues to circulate widely, the internet remains split between empathy and criticism. What is undeniable, however, is that the striking image of a luxury BMW being lowered into the ground has left a lasting impression — becoming one of the most talked-about viral moments right now.
