The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will organise AmdavadNXT, a three-day public mobility exhibition and convening, from February 21 to 23, 2026, at Riverfront House in Ahmedabad.
The initiative comes as the city prepares to position itself globally ahead of the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Through AmdavadNXT, AMC aims to strengthen public transport as a core element of an inclusive, people-centric and climate-resilient mobility system. The platform will encourage public dialogue and stakeholder engagement through interactive displays highlighting the future of mobility in Ahmedabad.
The exhibition is being organised under the SHIFT Transport coalition in partnership with WRI India, TUL Foundation, UrbanVoices, aProCh, MYBYK and other stakeholders.
Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani said that as Ahmedabad grows as an economic and cultural hub, its mobility systems must evolve accordingly. He described AmdavadNXT as a step toward bringing institutions, experts and citizens together to envision a safe, inclusive and sustainable public transport network. He also invited educational institutions to bring students to the exhibition, calling it an interactive learning opportunity.
The event will showcase Ahmedabad’s public transport journey—from AMTS to BRTS and Metro—through maps, infographics, multimedia installations and interactive tools. It will also feature panel discussions, fireside chats, best practices from other Gujarat cities, mobility-focused startups and a life-size model of the UNESCO World Heritage Walled City of Ahmedabad.
AmdavadNXT will bring together government departments, urban planners, academics, civil society groups, students and citizens to review the city’s mobility progress and explore future improvements.
According to AMC, the initiative is envisioned as a campaign to promote public and non-motorised transport as preferred travel modes, an exhibition highlighting data-driven mobility insights and innovations, a forum for policy discussions, and a platform for youth and communities to imagine a people-centric urban transport future.
The event will be open to all citizens of Ahmedabad.
