Around 155 people, including the groom, fell ill due to suspected food poisoning after attending a wedding feast in Amalsad village of Navsari district, Gujarat.Soon after dinner, several guests began complaining of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea, creating panic at the ceremony. Among those affected was the groom, Neil Tandel, along with many members of the wedding party. Nearly 60 people were admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while others received primary medical care and were later discharged.The incident occurred late in the evening, shortly before the groom was scheduled to leave Jalalpore. Health officials suspect that one of the food items served at the function may have been contaminated. The menu included chole-puri, paneer dishes, salad, curry rice, fried snacks, and milk halwa, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.Teams from the district health department rushed to the village after receiving information about the incident. Officials said a special medical team has been deployed, and the health of guests who returned to nearby villages is also being monitored.
