Air India will shift all its domestic and international flight operations to Terminal 2 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, from March 29, 2026, due to ongoing expansion and renovation work at Terminal 1.
At present, some Air India domestic flights operate from Terminal 1. With the new arrangement, however, all arrivals and departures—both domestic and international—will be handled exclusively from Terminal 2.
Airport authorities said the decision has been taken to facilitate development work at Terminal 1 while also improving passenger facilities. Travellers flying with Air India from Ahmedabad on or after March 29 have been advised to check their terminal details in advance to avoid inconvenience. The airline has also started informing passengers about the change through emails and SMS alerts.
Earlier, airlines such as Star Air and Alliance Air shifted their operations to Terminal 2 in March last year, while SpiceJet moved its flights there in 2024. Other carriers currently operating international services from Terminal 2 include Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines, and IndiGo (international flights).
