Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the metro extension up to Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on January 11. Commercial operations on the extended route will begin from January 16, 2026 (Friday), according to the new timetable issued by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation.
As per the revised schedule, the Ahmedabad Metro network will use different colours for easy identification of corridors:
- Blue Line: Vastral – Thaltej East–West Corridor
- Red Line: APMC – Motera North–South Corridor
- Yellow Line: Motera – Sachivalaya Corridor–1
- Violet Line: GNLU – GIFT City Corridor
The updated timetable aims to improve connectivity between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar while making the network easier for commuters to navigate.
