The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has announced its action plan for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, which will be held from February 26 to March 18, 2026.
Board officials said the plan aims to ensure smooth, disciplined and transparent conduct of the exams while managing the rising number of candidates.
This year, over 15.28 lakh students have registered for the examinations, including 1,341 students from Sanskrit, Prathma and Madhyama streams. The figure is nearly one lakh higher than last year, when 14.28 lakh students appeared.
To conduct the exams, the board has set up 1,701 centres across the state, divided into 87 zones for Class 10 and 59 zones for Class 12. A total of 5,565 buildings and 53,764 exam blocks will be used.
For Class 10, exams will be held at 1,006 centres in 3,243 buildings, covering 31,001 blocks. The Class 12 General Stream exams will take place at 539 centres across 1,728 buildings with 16,664 blocks, while the Science Stream exams will be conducted at 156 centres in 594 buildings with 6,099 blocks.
The board has also issued detailed guidelines regarding seating arrangements, prohibited items and necessary precautions for schools and zonal offices to ensure smooth conduct.
