A major fire erupted at a chemical factory in Gurukrupa Estate near Mony Hotel in Ahmedabad’s Isanpur area on Monday, causing panic in the surrounding locality.
Following the alert, at least eight fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot and firefighting operations are underway. Firefighters are continuously spraying water to bring the blaze under control.
Officials said the fire intensified due to the presence of chemicals inside the factory, sending thick smoke billowing into the sky, which was visible from a long distance. The factory is located close to shops and residential areas, leading to concern among nearby residents.
No casualties have been reported so far, though significant damage to the factory is feared. Authorities said the situation is being closely monitored and further details are awaited.
