The state-level Republic Day celebrations were held at Vav–Tharad in Banaskantha district, where Governor Acharya Devvrat unfurled the national flag in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The ceremony witnessed a colourful display as flower petals were showered from a helicopter during the flag-hoisting, drawing special attention. About 1,600 Gujarat Police personnel, organised into 22 platoons, took part in a disciplined parade and saluted the national flag.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel extended Republic Day greetings to the people of Gujarat. In his message on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, he paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation and to the architects of the Indian Constitution. He said India is progressing steadily towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 and urged citizens to stay united, uphold constitutional values, and work with the spirit of ‘Nation First’ to help India emerge as a global leader.
