Women running homestays from Goa, Ladakh, Kashmir and Gujarat will bring their regional cuisines to the Ahmedabad Food Fest, scheduled to be held in the second half of the month. The participants are being supported under SEWA’s new “Hum Sab Ek” initiative, launched in partnership with Airbnb.
The programme aims to empower women by helping them become homestay hosts, offering travellers home-cooked meals, cultural experiences and an authentic glimpse of village life.
Through the initiative, guests can stay with local families, learn traditional skills such as embroidery in Gujarat, enjoy camel rides near the Rann of Kutch, try fishing in Goa or even track snow leopards in Ladakh. SEWA provides training to women in hospitality, responsible hosting, use of digital platforms and quality standards, enabling them to manage bookings and interact confidently with guests.
