The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has revised the Class 10 and Class 12 examination schedule for 2026 after it was found to clash with the state’s public holiday for Dhuleti on March 4.
Earlier, the board had scheduled several important exams on March 4. However, after the Gujarat government released its 2026 holiday list confirming Dhuleti on that day, GSHSEB decided to reschedule the affected papers. All exams originally planned for March 4 have now been shifted to later dates between March 16 and March 18.
Due to this change, the examination period has been extended by at least three days. For Class 10 students, the social science paper, which was earlier set to be the final exam on March 16, will now be held on March 18.
For Class 12 students, the science stream biology exam has been rescheduled to March 16. In the general stream, several subjects—including elements of accounts, history, economics, business organisation and management, sociology, psychology, science and technology, and vocational subjects such as biology and agricultural chemistry—will now be conducted on March 18.
In a circular issued on Friday evening, the board stated that the original exam timetable for Class 10 and Class 12 (science and general streams) was announced on November 8. After the state holiday list released on November 27 confirmed Dhuleti on March 4, the board said the revision was necessary and urged students, parents and school authorities to take note of the updated schedule.
