In a major boost for board exam aspirants, the Gujarat education department has released a digital question bank and model papers to help students of Classes 10 and 12 prepare better for their exams. The initiative, launched for the fourth consecutive year by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHEB), aims to reduce exam stress and improve confidence among students.
The digital question bank covers 40 subjects across all three streams for SSC and HSC students, and is available in both English and Gujarati mediums. This year, the content has been significantly expanded with more subjects and updated material compared to previous editions.
For Class 10 students, the question bank includes the six main subjects. Class 12 Science stream students have access to question banks for all six science subjects, while the General stream includes eight key subjects considered most challenging.
Easy one-click access
The question papers have been prepared by expert teachers and a technical team from Ahmedabad, with special focus on ease of use for students from rural areas. Students can access the portal by scanning a link or QR code shared on social media. The study material can be downloaded free of cost anytime and anywhere. With a single click, students can access the entire syllabus by selecting their class, subject and medium.
Focus on confidence-building
Ahmedabad City District Education Officer Rohit Chaudhary said the main objective of the initiative is to boost students’ confidence and remove fear related to examinations. He added that the digital question bank serves as an effective revision tool for students who have completed their syllabus and is being widely used by students across Gujarat.
‘Saarthi’ helpline for exam stress
To support students’ mental well-being, the education department has also made the ‘Saarthi’ helpline available to address exam-related stress and doubts. Students can seek help by sending a single message, after which education experts contact them to provide guidance. Queries related to theory or examples are resolved promptly, helping students cope better with exam pressure.
