A grand religious ceremony marked the consecration of the newly built BAPS Swaminarayan Temple at Shayona City in the Ghatlodia area on Sunday, with hundreds of devotees attending the event.
The temple, constructed by the Shayona family with the blessings and inspiration of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj, was completed within a remarkable span of just one year. Devotees gathered in large numbers for darshan of the beautifully installed idols.
The pran pratishtha ceremony was performed by Bhaktipriya Swami (Kothari Bapa), Ishwarcharan Swami, Anandswaroop Swami and Brahmavihari Swami. Following the rituals, the saints formally opened the temple for devotees and offered their blessings.
Addressing the gathering, Brahmavihari Swami expressed deep gratitude to the Shayona family, specially praising the women members for their strength and dedication. Quoting Pramukh Swami Maharaj, he said the Shayona family exemplified true devotion by fulfilling even the smallest wishes of saints and faithfully following their guidance.
The temple was described as the 75th Sanskar Dham (centre of values) in Ahmedabad district. Brahmavihari Swami recalled that the family was challenged at the foundation ceremony to complete the temple within a year, a commitment that was successfully fulfilled.
Members of the Shayona family, including Sureshbhai Patel, Vishnubhai, Ghanshyambhai, Piyushbhai, Jagdishbhai, Vasantbhai and Nikulbhai, welcomed the saints and received their blessings.
Anandswaroop Swami and Ishwarcharan Swami also highlighted the importance of faith and described the offering of the temple as a significant contribution to society and spiritual life.
