Ahmedabad-based GLS University has launched a Global Bachelor of Design (Hons) programme in partnership with Australia’s SAE Institute. The new course will offer specialisations in Animation, VFX and Game Development.
The collaboration marks SAE Institute’s official entry into India, strengthening its commitment to supporting the country’s fast-growing creative industries. SAE currently operates 47 campuses across 20 countries.
The MoU was signed on Monday in the presence of GLS University president Sudhir Nanavati and executive director Dr Chandni Kapadia, along with senior representatives from SAE and its parent group, Navitas, including Jenna Schiller and Steve Hird.
Nanavati said that students completing the programme will receive both an SAE certificate and a GLS University degree. “The aim is to provide global-quality education at a much lower cost than studying in Australia,” he said, adding that the first batch will include around 60 students. The course fee is yet to be finalised.
Dr Kapadia said the partnership will help fill the talent gap in India’s creative sectors by offering world-class training in Animation, VFX and Game Development. Schiller added that the programme will equip Indian students with top-tier technical skills and connect them with SAE’s global network of successful alumni working at leading creative companies.
