Bengaluru’s Police Commissioner received an email on November 30 warning of bomb attacks at Kempegowda International Airport and several city malls. The mail, sent from an ID with the name ‘Mohit Kumar’, claimed to be from the “Jaish-e-Mohammed white-collar terror team”.
The message said bombs would go off at 7 pm at locations including Orion Mall, Lulu Mall, Forum South Mall, and Mantri Square. Police have filed an FIR under Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
This threat comes soon after agencies cracked down on a “white-collar terror module” linked to the November 10 Red Fort blast in Delhi. According to a media report, five doctors allegedly raised about ₹26 lakh to plan coordinated attacks in multiple cities.
Earlier this year too, Bengaluru schools received hoax bomb emails. Police later traced those threats to Rene Joshilda, a software engineer already lodged in Ahmedabad Central Jail.
