Udgam School for Children has written to the District Education Officer (DEO) asking for details of the sections of the RTE Act it is alleged to have violated.
The move comes a day after the DEO issued a notice claiming the school forced students to buy shoes and sweaters of specific brands from certain vendors.
The school said the notice did not specify the exact nature of the alleged violation. It requested the details be shared promptly and asked for two weeks to respond.
Udgam added that the information on its website about optional uniform items, including sweaters, is only advisory and not mandatory. It called the complaint “factually incorrect and misleading” and said no action should be taken based on it.
