Around 35 Semester 3 Master of Mass Communication and Journalism (MMCJ) students at Gujarat University were shocked on Monday when they were handed the question paper meant for the following day’s exam.
Once the error was flagged, officials immediately replaced it with the correct paper and granted students an extra 20 minutes to make up for the lost time.
GU registrar Piyush Patel said a show-cause notice will be issued to the paper-setter and others responsible. If found at fault, the teacher may be barred from exam-related duties.
Explaining the mix-up, state education minister Dr. Pradyuman Vaja said that the paper for subject 502 was scheduled, but the paper-setter accidentally placed the subject 503 paper in the same envelope. The invigilator spotted the mistake and corrected it promptly, he added.
