Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that books not only impart knowledge but also play an important role in shaping an individual’s personality.
Shah visited the Ahmedabad International Book Fair, where he distributed books to children and toured various stalls.
“Books are a vital medium for gaining knowledge and for personality development,” Shah wrote on X, noting his visit to the fair organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the National Book Trust of India.
He added that the fair — featuring literary events, folk songs, poetry recitations and a start-up forum — will help nurture reading habits and skill development among children and youth.The 10-day book fair was inaugurated last week by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
