The city will soon get two minor bridges to help ease traffic congestion. One will be built on the Pirana–Piplaj road, while the other will come up near the Nirnaynagar underpass as a one-way bridge for light motor vehicles.
Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani said the Pirana–Piplaj bridge on the new TP road will be a four-lane structure costing Rs 36.33 crore. It will be 100 metres long and 17 metres wide, and will be built under the CM Urban Development Scheme.
The Nirnaynagar bridge is expected to reduce traffic at the busy junction that connects Matarani Temple, Poojan Hospital and the road leading to the Akhbarnagar underpass. This bridge will cost Rs 6.77 crore and will be 32 metres long and 6.30 metres wide.
Memnagar party plot
AMC will also develop an open party plot in the Memnagar area. Spread across 593 sq m, it will have a capacity to host around 1,500 people.
