Mexico’s Fátima Bosch Crowned Miss Universe 2025; Thailand Secures First Runner-Up, India Exits in Top 12

In a spectacular finale, Mexico’s Fátima Bosch emerged victorious at the 74th Miss Universe pageant, surpassing over 100 contestants to claim the prestigious crown. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh was declared the first runner-up, while Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, the reigning Miss Universe 2023, passed on the title during the grand ceremony. Bosch’s win marks a celebrated return for Mexico, five years after Andrea Meza’s 2020 triumph.

A Journey of Resilience and Purpose

Fátima Bosch Fernández hails from Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, and is widely admired for her compassion toward animals and her advocacy for sustainable fashion. Diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and hyperactivity, Bosch transformed her challenges into strengths, carving an inspiring path forward.

She earned a degree in Fashion and Apparel Design from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, followed by advanced studies at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy. Her work today focuses on repurposing discarded materials into meaningful fashion pieces that merge creativity with sustainability.

Pageant Controversy: Director Restricted After Outburst

Ahead of the finale, Miss Universe director Nawat Itsaragrisil was caught on video shouting at Miss Mexico. Following the incident, the organisation took swift action by restricting Nawat’s participation in the event, ensuring decorum during the global competition.

India’s Manika Vishwakarma Reaches Top 12

India’s representative, Manika Vishwakarma, concluded her Miss Universe 2025 journey after being eliminated in the Top 12 round following the swimsuit segment. Competing against delegates from across the world, she used her platform to highlight inclusive education, mental wellness, and artistic expression.

A Night of Culture, Glamour, and Global Celebration

The star-studded finale was hosted by the internationally acclaimed performer Steve Byrne. Thai singer-songwriter Jeff Satur captivated audiences with performances during the Opening Song and Top 5 segments. Adding to the cultural grandeur, a traditional Thai performance paid homage to the host nation—blending centuries of artistry, rhythmic grace, and elegance to honour Thailand’s rich heritage.

The 74th Miss Universe concluded with a powerful message of empowerment, creativity, and global unity, marking another unforgettable chapter in the pageant’s legacy.
