Tourists thronged Mount Abu on Monday as the popular hill station recorded its coldest day of the season, with temperatures dropping to 0°C. At Guru Shikhar, the highest peak of the Aravalli range, the mercury plunged to -2°C, covering vehicles, fields, the Polo Ground and Barkatullah Khan Stadium in sheets of ice.
The season’s first snowfall drew large crowds to Nakki Lake and other viewpoints, with visitors from Gujarat and neighbouring states rushing to enjoy the wintry landscape. Tourist numbers are expected to rise as the cold spell continues.
Meanwhile, Gujarat saw dry and clear weather across the state, including Saurashtra-Kutch and the Union Territories of Diu, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 14.8°C, 1.9°C below normal, with the maximum settling at 29.7°C — about 3°C below normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), northeasterly and easterly winds have kept nights cooler, though temperatures are likely to rise by 2–3°C after the next 48 hours.
No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state, and the IMD has issued no weather warnings for the next seven days. Clear skies and dry conditions are expected statewide until November 24.
