Winter tightened its grip across Gujarat on Monday as cold northerly winds drove temperatures down, with eight cities recording minimums below 15°C. Naliya and Dahod were the coldest at 10.8°C.
Other cities that dipped below 15°C included Amreli, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Deesa, Rajkot, Porbandar and Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad logged 14.8°C — 1.9°C below normal — while its daytime temperature fell to 29.7°C, about 3.5°C below the seasonal average.
Five-day forecast
The IMD predicts Ahmedabad’s minimum temperature will hover around 15°C for the next five days. A slight rise is expected after November 20, but the current cold spell will continue until then.
Mount Abu recorded the season’s lowest at 0°C, with meteorologists attributing the chill across Gujarat to persistent northerly winds.
