The trailer of Dining With The Kapoors is out, offering a warm, candid look into one of Bollywood’s most celebrated film families. The Netflix special marks 100 years of Raj Kapoor and also honours his father, Prithviraj Kapoor, bringing together multiple generations under one roof.
The documentary-style special features Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Rima Jain, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Aadar Jain. As Kareena describes her family as “funny, loving, and united,” the trailer promises a heartfelt reunion filled with nostalgia, laughter, and unfiltered moments.
The snippets show Neetu Kapoor teasing Kareena as the “dramatic” member of the family, while Ranbir Kapoor recalls a light-hearted kitchen incident, joking that cousin Armaan “got burnt” while cooking. The unscripted series is conceptualised by Armaan Jain and directed by Smriti Mundhra, known for Indian Matchmaking, Never Have I Ever, and The Romantics.
Smriti Mundhra said returning to Netflix felt like a “homecoming,” adding that the Kapoors are the kind of close-knit, food-loving family everyone wishes they could join. She said her aim was to capture not just their stories but the feeling of being at the dining table with them—listening to laughter, memories, and authentic, unguarded moments. She also expressed gratitude to the Kapoor family for letting her be part of their legacy project.
Fans Question Alia Bhatt’s Absence
Even as the trailer received overwhelming praise, fans quickly pointed out that Alia Bhatt was missing from the gathering. Social media saw a flurry of comments such as “Where is Alia?” and “She is a Kapoor too—why is she never part of these family moments?” Some hoped her absence might be a surprise reveal in the full documentary.
Dining With The Kapoors will premiere on Netflix on November 21.
