St Xavier’s Loyola Hall has informed parents that it is exploring a shift from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) to the CISCE board. The school has scheduled a meeting on November 18 to seek parents’ feedback, with the proposed change likely to take effect from the 2026 academic year.
The switch would require multiple approvals, including No Objection Certificates from the state board and the education department, followed by CISCE’s clearance. Even if approved, the shift would be phased, allowing existing Gujarat board students to finish their courses.
Sources said the minority-run school has not yet filed a formal proposal with the District Education Office. Parents’ consent will play a major role, as the move would bring a new curriculum and a significant increase in fees — a key concern for families who opted for the grant-in-aid school for its affordable structure.
