Institute signs MoU with Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library
The National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML) to provide design expertise for the revamp of the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in New Delhi.
As part of the collaboration, NID will enhance the museum’s overall visitor experience through the design of exhibits, galleries, signage systems, ticket counters, public utilities, and promotional materials. The institute will also contribute to the Sangrahalaya’s branding, reinforcing India’s growing design footprint in projects of national significance.
The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya honours every Prime Minister of India since Independence, narrating their contributions to nation-building and the strengthening of democracy over the past 75 years. The museum celebrates India’s transformation from colonial rule to a self-reliant nation driven by social harmony, economic empowerment, and infrastructural progress.
Officials said that under the leadership of Director Dr. Ashok Mondal, NID has been forging strategic partnerships with various ministries and institutions to promote design-led innovation and help realise the Prime Minister’s vision of making Bharat Atmanirbhar in the field of design.
