Ahmedabad woke up to a clear yet chilly morning on Sunday, with the minimum temperature settling at 16°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The city has been gradually slipping into winter, as the cold wave strengthens across Gujarat.
On Saturday, the mercury dipped to 14.7°C — 3.4°C below normal — marking the coldest November temperature in two years. In comparison, the lowest November temperatures in the past two years were 15.6°C (2023) and 15.7°C (2024), both recorded towards the end of the month.
The IMD has forecast that Ahmedabad’s minimum temperature will remain around 15°C over the next three days. Gandhinagar was even cooler on Saturday night at 14.0°C, while several other parts of Gujarat also reported a notable dip.
A total of 12 cities across the state recorded minimum temperatures below 20°C, signalling the arrival of winter.
